School Safety Plan
Gabriel Richard Catholic High School complies with all school safety plans as set forth by the state.
Emergency Drills for K-12 Schools and Cardiac Emergency Response Plan

Summary of new regulation. The effective date is July 1, 2014.
Drill Requirements:

A minimum of five (5) fire drills are required for each school year. Three of the five are to be held by December 1 of the school year; two are to be held during the remaining part of the school year, with reasonable spacing between each drill.

A minimum of two (2) tornado drills are required for each school year; at least one is to be conducted during March of the school year.

A minimum of three (3) lockdown drills are required each school year; at least one is to be conducted after January 1, with a reasonable spacing between each drill.

At least one of the drills must be held during a lunch or recess period, or at a time when a signficant number of students are not gathered in the classroom.
Documentation Requirements:

Documentation of a completed school safety drill is to be posted on its website within 30 days after the drill is completed and maintained on the website for at least three years.

Documentation must include at least:

Name of the school
-
School year of the drill
-
Date and time of the drill
-
Type of drill completed
-
Number of completed drills for that school year
-
Signature of the school principal, or designee, acknowledging the completion of the drill

Name of the individual in charge of conducting the drill, if other than the school principal.

No later than September 15 of each school year, the chief administrator of a school, or designee, must provide a list of scheduled drill days to the county emergency management coordinator.
A scheduled drill that is not conducted on a scheduled drill day due to conditions not within the control of the school authorities is to be rescheduled to occur within 10 school days.
The county emergency management coordinator is to be notified of the rescheduled date for the drill.

Asbestos Management Plan

The school's Asbestos Management Plan, designed to be in compliance with state and federal regulations, is available in the Maintenance Office. Pest Management Plan
​
The school applies only pest control products that comply with state and federal guidelines. With the exception of an emergency, signs will be posted 48 hours before application. Parents who want to be notified prior to pesticide application may contact Leonard St. Pierre at (734) 284-1875, ext. 124. To read the Annual Notification of Pesticides, please click here.
